Samantha Belote

Communications Officer

Samantha Belote, a first descendant of the Spokane Tribe located on the Spokane Indian Reservation in Wellpinit, WA, is the Communications Manager for NAAF. Samantha oversees social media content and management, media relations, strategic storytelling, and marketing and assists with other communication duties. Before joining NAAF, she served as Assistant Athletic Director for Marketing and Communications at her alma mater, Eastern Oregon University.

Samantha graduated from Eastern Oregon University in La Grande, Oregon, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in media arts and communications with a focus on digital media. As a Mountaineer, Samantha also competed for the women’s basketball team and eventually obtained her master’s degree in business administration with a focus on marketing. 

Having grown up on a rural Indian reservation in Wellpinit, WA, Samantha is passionate about connecting rural communities to available resources to improve the quality of life. In addition to her work with EOU, Samantha served as the Diabetes Prevention Program Manager for the Spokane Tribe and focused on bringing in helpful and educational tools to the schools, community, and tribal members

In her spare time, Samantha is a fitness instructor at a nearby studio and freelances as a social media marketer and content creator. She enjoys traveling, hiking, music, and sports. Samantha and her husband, Mathew, reside in La Grande, OR, with their chocolate lab, Nola.
