NAAF on Announcement of USDA Discrimination Financial Assistance Application Process

Jul 7, 2023

For far too long, the original stewards of the land have been navigating a landscape of systemic bias, and those persistent barriers have created insurmountable challenges for Native producers. Today’s announcement of financial assistance for those who have faced discrimination is a crucial step towards accountability and a shift towards improving services within USDA lending programs, creating more equitable opportunities for Native agriculture to thrive. NAAF is grateful for the work of a trusted support network, including our partners at the Intertribal Agriculture Council, working together to ensure that Native American farmers have fair access to this application process.
