NAAF on Announcement of USDA Discrimination Financial Assistance Application Process
NAAF on Announcement of USDA Discrimination Financial Assistance Application Process
“For far too long, the original stewards of the land have been navigating a landscape of systemic bias, and those persistent barriers have created insurmountable challenges for Native producers. Today’s announcement of financial assistance for those who have faced discrimination is a crucial step towards accountability and a shift towards improving services within USDA lending programs, creating more equitable opportunities for Native agriculture to thrive. NAAF is grateful for the work of a trusted support network, including our partners at the Intertribal Agriculture Council, working together to ensure that Native American farmers have fair access to this application process.”
– Toni Stanger-McLaughlin, CEO of Native American Agriculture Fund
