The Kalispel Tribe Department of Agriculture’s USDA‑Certified Meat Processing Facility Project seeks to provide farmers and ranchers with essential infrastructure and technical support, enabling them to process livestock locally and access higher-value markets. By removing long-standing barriers to market participation and capital readiness, such as a lack of certified processing, high transportation costs, and insufficient business documentation, the facility will help producers demonstrate revenue, improve creditworthiness, and pursue loans and grants for business growth. This shared-use, community-centered model strengthens individual enterprises and regional food systems while advancing Tribal food sovereignty and long-term economic stability, directly supporting NAAF’s mission to increase capital access for agricultural producers.
