Mary Belle Zook is an award-winning communications and media professional with nearly 20 years of combined print and publishing experience. Mary Belle is a member of the Citizen Potawatomi Nation and serves the Native American Agriculture Fund as a communications officer and data specialist.
Prior to joining NAAF, Mary Belle served as the communications director at the Indigenous Food and Agriculture Initiative, facilitated communications efforts at her Tribe, and helped raise millions to support non-profits in central Oklahoma and improve the overall health and wellness of those who call the Oklahoma City metro home.
Mary Belle grew up on a farm outside of Waynoka, Oklahoma, where she was active in the FFA and other community-serving organizations, eventually earning a State FFA Degree for her goat operation. Growing up in rural Oklahoma and her time as a cattle and goat producer inspired her to pursue a career in agriculture. She attended Oklahoma State University and obtained a degree in agricultural communications. Mary Belle is passionate about her work to ensure the success of Indian Country’s vibrant and growing food and agriculture systems through strategic communications.
In addition to her role at NAAF, Mary Belle is working to obtain a Master’s in Native American Leadership from Southeastern Oklahoma State University.
In her free time, Mary Belle enjoys spending time with her family, exploring nature, helping on the family farm,  live music, and baking sourdough.
