The Fort Berthold Land & Livestock Association (FBLLA) serves as a cattle growers’ association for members of the Three Affiliated Tribes of Mandan Hidatsa & Arikara (MHA) Nation who are active landowners and livestock producers.
With their project, Fort Berthold Land and Livestock Infrastructure Relief for Range Land Improvement, FBLLA offers members and other producers’ access to fencing materials through a small grant program, increasing the integrity of Fort Berthold Reservation’s fencing infrastructure on the range units. The program reduces improvement costs, helping producers remain compliant with grazing ordinances, improve livestock management, create good relations between neighbors, and support conservation and land stewardship across the reservation.
By delivering these funds as direct re-grants, the program expands access to capital for producers who could not otherwise absorb the rising cost of fencing materials and labor. In doing so, FBLLA advances NAAF’s mission by strengthening the infrastructure necessary to keep producers on their land and engaged in agriculture for generations to come.
