Accounting/Compliance Associate

The Native American Agriculture Fund (NAAF) is searching for an accounting/compliance associate (ACA) to join our organization. NAAF is the largest U.S. philanthropic organization focused exclusively on the needs of Native American farmers and ranchers. This position requires someone who has a proactive personality and engaging team player style with a passion for and commitment to the mission and core values of NAAF. 

The ACA is responsible for accounting, accounts payable, compliance, and other duties working with accounting management and compliance management for NAAF. The ACA reports to the COO and will work closely with the finance and compliance teams. Incumbents may also on a regular basis support an office-wide initiative or assist the CEO, program, communications, and investment departments with a special project. 

 Required competencies and skills: 

    • Basic knowledge of accounting 
    • Experience with accounting software, preferably Sage Intacct 
    • Microsoft Office 365 proficiency 
    • Strong analytical and organizational skills 
    • Attention to details and compliance with deadlines 
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills 
    • Ability to work without supervision 
    • Strong team player skills in an environment that supports diversity, equity and inclusion 
    • Highest ethics as related to all aspects of business 
    • Ability to understand and maintain the highest levels of confidentiality 

 Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to: 

    • Complete and maintain reports on travel to NAAF management 
    • Manage accounts payable 
    • Maintain electronic file organization 
    • Audit employee expense reports 
    • Work with vendors to coordinate employee technology equipment purchases 
    • Manage fixed assets register and complete yearly inventory 
    • Assist with yearly external audit requirements 
    • Perform month-end closing duties as required 
    • Perform general office duties 
    • Assists compliance reviewing grant reporting for completeness 
    • Perform other compliance and finance duties as assigned 
    • Undertakes special projects as assigned or initiated 

Minimum two-year associate degree or equivalent experience in accounting required.

          • Disregard the warning that says that number is already in use.
        • Enter “Accounting/Compliance Associate” for Business Title.
        • Select “Yes” for Organization Signing Authority.

3. From the Applicant Dashboard, click “Apply” in the top left area of the page.

4. Enter the code “Careers” in the top right area of the page. Click the blue “Apply” button to start your application for Accounting/Compliance Associate.
